Yes, we absolutely love senior dogs and are dedicated to their care. Our experience with senior dogs began with Joran, Tara’s sister's dog, who we took in when her sister became very sick. Joran was a beloved part of our family and helped us understand the unique needs of senior dogs.

We also have Birdie, who we initially thought was around 10 years old. However, a DNA test revealed she is actually 16! No, we don’t normally walk dogs every day. If the weather is rainy or extremely hot, we may schedule walks later in the afternoon or at night. However, dogs usually get plenty of exercise playing with other dogs in our yard throughout the day. This natural playtime helps keep them active and engaged.

If your dog isn't social with other dogs (but isn't aggressive or causing issues), we'll make sure to check in on them frequently and prioritize their comfort throughout the day. During the initial meet and greet, we’ll assess your dog’s behavior and tailor their experience to ensure they have a positive and stress-free time with us. Our focus will be on providing them with plenty of attention and engagement to meet their individual needs.

Communication at Playday Pups is designed to keep you informed and connected. We recommend using our app for updates, though it’s not required. Our system will also provide updates via email or text. If you prefer, you can always call us at 905-230-2541 or email us at hello@playdaypups.ca for any inquiries or additional information.

We have retired our dog walking services to focus entirely on providing exceptional care for the dogs in our daycare and boarding programs. By not offering walking services, we ensure that every dog receives the individual attention and engagement they deserve, upholding the high standards of care that make Playday Pups Burlington’s top choice for dog daycare and boarding.

We take great care in making sure all dogs get along well and feel comfortable. Before joining our daycare or boarding, every new dog goes through a meet and greet with our team. This allows us to assess their temperament and social skills in a controlled environment. We also keep group sizes small, so we can closely monitor interactions and adjust playgroups as needed to match dogs with similar energy levels and personalities. Your dog’s safety and happiness are our top priorities!

When your dog attends daycare at Playday Pups, all you need to bring is a leash and lunch if they eat during the day. We provide everything else, including plenty of toys, water, and a fun, safe environment for them to enjoy. If your dog has any special dietary needs or medications, just let us know, and we’ll make sure they’re taken care of!

It’s also a great opportunity for you to see our facilities and ask any questions you might have. This process helps us ensure a smooth transition and that all dogs can enjoy their time with us safely and happily.

We don’t provide meals for the dogs, as we want to avoid upsetting their tummies. Please bring your dog's normal food if they require it during their stay. This ensures they stick to their usual diet and helps keep them comfortable and happy.

For dogs with allergies or specific dietary needs, we handle their meals with special care. We feed each dog one at a time, separately from others, to ensure there are no mix-ups or cross-contamination. This careful approach helps accommodate any dietary restrictions and keeps your dog comfortable and safe while they’re with us.

We prioritize cleanliness to ensure a hygienic environment for the dogs. Our facilities are cleaned regularly, with thorough disinfection of all areas, including play spaces, sleeping areas, and food bowls. We use pet-safe cleaning products and maintain a strict cleaning schedule to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a fresh, healthy space for your dog. Additionally, we monitor the environment throughout the day to address any spills or messes promptly.

If you need to cancel or change your dog’s scheduled daycare days, that’s no problem at all. We don't charge any fees for changes or cancellations, so you can adjust your plans as needed without any worry. Just let us know, and we’ll make the necessary arrangements.

Our new location on Advanced Rd is in a commercial district, so noise isn’t typically a concern. However, if any dogs are excessively barking, we manage the situation by speaking with them calmly and providing some quiet time indoors if needed. This helps reduce noise and ensures a comfortable environment for all dogs in our care.

At this time, we do not accept extra-large breeds such as Great Danes, Mastiffs, St. Bernards, or Bernese Mountain Dogs at our daycare. However, we understand that every dog is unique, and we are open to making exceptions based on individual circumstances. If you have a specific breed or size in mind, please reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to discuss your dog’s needs and see if we can accommodate them.

When introducing new dogs into the existing group, we start by allowing them to explore the main outdoor yard. We carefully match new dogs with others that have similar temperaments—timid dogs with timid ones, for example—to ensure a smooth and positive introduction. Tara and Dave closely supervise these interactions to help everyone feel comfortable and ensure a harmonious environment for all the dogs.

Yes, you can bring personal items such as blankets for your dog, especially for boarding stays where these items can help your dog feel more at home. However, it’s not necessary for daycare, as we provide plenty of comfort and enrichment throughout the day. If you prefer to bring something for added comfort, feel free to do so!

Currently, we do not offer additional services such as grooming or training during daycare. However, we are actively looking into adding these services in the future to better meet the needs of our clients. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to enhance our offerings!

Mealtimes are managed carefully by feeding one dog at a time to prevent food aggression. If a dog doesn’t eat, we will attempt to feed them a few times to encourage them to eat. If they still don’t eat, we’ll inform you at pickup time so you’re aware of the situation and can address any concerns. Our goal is to ensure that every dog is well-fed and comfortable during their stay.

If you have any specific preferences or needs, just let us know!

While boarding at Playday Pups, your dog will get plenty of exercise through playtime with Kaya and our daycare pups. For dogs that are anxious or have separation anxiety, we take a gentle and gradual approach. We introduce them slowly to the environment and other dogs to help them adjust comfortably. If any aggression or issues arise, we keep the dogs separated and work on re-introducing them gradually.
